Our Family

Mr. V.N. "Pete" Booker was the founder of the Booker Funeral Home. In 1945 "Pete" and his son Harry purchased the current property on 325 W. Cedar St. Harry owned and operated the funeral home until his passing in 1980. In September of 1995 the Gilbert Family purchased the funeral home. In 1996 through 1997, extensive remodeling and updating of the funeral home was done to make the facility more accessible to the public and changed the name to Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. In 2016 and 2017 the exterior of the funeral home was remodeled and changed the name to the Gilbert Funeral Home of Franklin, KY.
