James Vickers "J.V." Ditmore

Mr. James Vickers “J.V.” Ditmore, age 83 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 4:55 PM at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2015 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Howard Ditmore and the late Bertha Hughes Ditmore.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Bill and Joe Ditmore and a sister Frances D. Cherry.

He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth Gunn Ditmore, a sister Trudy Morphew (Kenneth) of Cromwell, KY., 3 sons Randy, Sammy and Mark Ditmore all of Franklin, KY., 2 grandsons Kaelin Ditmore of Franklin, KY. and Zack Ditmore of Bowling Green, KY., 3 granddaughters Sammy Jo Ditmore of Franklin, Ky. and Andrea Ditmore and Tammy Hunter both of Bowling Greem, KY., 2 great grandsons and many nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Chris Gunn of Franklin, KY.

Mr. Ditmore was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ and was franchise owner of H&R Block for 45 years.  He graduated FSHS in 1950 and WKU in 1955 and received his Masters from WKU in 1972.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2015 and from 6:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Taylor Christian Camp or to the charity of one’s choice.
