Mrs. Virginia Brown, age 103, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 in the early hours of the morning at the Franklin Simpson Nursing Home in Franklin, KY.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Owensboro Memorial Gardens on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
Virginia was born on December 19, 1915 in McCacken County, KY to the late Emmett Huddleston and the late Esther Cruse Huddleston. She was preceded in death by her brother Terrell Huddleston, her husband Darrel Brown, her son Kenneth Brown and her granddaughter Rebecca Brown.
She is survived by two grandchildren: Elizabeth Bosse of Murfreesboro, TN and Scott Brown of Cookeville, TN, as well as five great-grand children: Jamie Bosse of Wuhan, China; Jack Bosse of Murfreesboro, TN; Xavier Brown of Madison, TN; Mac Brown of Cookeville,TN; Abby Paul of Nashville, TN.
Virginia ran Brown’s Market in Owensboro with her husband, Darrel, for many years. During WWII she worked at the Greyhound Bus Station in Paducah, which was a job she loved and remembered fondly over the years.
Virginia found great joy in automobile travel. She is free now to, once again, cruise the highways in her Olds 98.
