Mrs. Sue Carol Vaughn, age 73, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Medical Center of Franklin, KY.
Visitation will be Friday, June 26th, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 804 Church Street, in Franklin, Ky. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. ***MASKS MUST BE WORN DURING VISITATION AND AT THE FUNERAL***.
Sue Carol was born on October 10th, 1946 in Franklin, KY to the late William “Bill” Wesley Ditmore and the late Virginia Irene Dillard Deaton. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gary Deaton and David Deaton.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jerry D. Vaughn; 2 children, Amy Biggs Ellis (John) of Franklin, KY and Beth Biggs Durham (Dean Waight) of Nashville, TN; 2 step-children, Joshua Vaughn of Burlington, KY and Ashley Schrimsher of Bowling Green, KY; 4 grandchildren, Hanna Kirby, Chelsea Thompson, Dustin Agee, Bryson Durham; 4 step-grandchildren, Jace Vaughn, Evann Long, Jameson Schrimsher, Lucian Rose; 9 great-grandchildren, Ellie Kirby, Chloe Kirby, Ali Cooper Kirby, Ryley Thompson, Laken Thompson, Riley Agee, Jaxson Agee, Charlee Grace Agee, Kole Rubenstein; 2 siblings, Patti Crowder of Scottsville, KY and Charles Deaton of Cottontown, TN; 1 aunt, Trudy Morphew of Cromwell, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue Carol worked as a tax preparer for over 35 years at H&R Block and also in her home at Tax Time. She was a purchaser for Pilot Travel Center and also worked at Macy's Logistics. She was a Christian woman and member of Calvary Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and loved everyone equally. She had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. She loved to tell a story, had a giving soul and always wanted to help anyone that she could. She loved her husband, children and grandbabies unconditionally.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are to be made to Hopkins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 460 South College Street, Woodburn, KY. 42170. Donations may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home.
