Saundra M. Hyde Akin

Mrs. Saundra Machell Hyde Akin, age 68, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 6:14 pm at Auburn Healthcare in Auburn, KY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  A graveside service will be held the same day, Wednesday, March 13th at 4:00 PM at Sulphur Spring Cemetery, 2504 Sulphur Spring Road in Simpson County. 

Saundra was born on March 1, 1956 in Brownsville, KY to the late William Smith Hyde and the late Devenia (Gibson) Hyde.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Akin.  They married in December 2006.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Melissa Snodgrass (Jamie) of Morgantown, KY; 2 step-children, Christy Akin of Franklin, KY and Chad Akin of Bowling Green, KY; and 3 grandchildren, Katie, Lily and Emma.

Saundra worked 10 years at Britthaven in Bowling Green, KY and 10 years at Franklin Medco in Franklin, KY.   Saundra enjoyed reading, cross stitching and crocheting.
