Rodney Craig Ellis

Mr. Rodney Craig Ellis, age 72, of Franklin, KY, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 7:52 AM at the Hospice House of Bowling Green, KY.

Rodney’s wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A Memorial Service will be held the same day, Thursday, September 26th at 12:00 PM.

Rodney was born September 21, 1952 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Lewis Ellis. 

He is survived by his mother, Edna Ware Ellis of Franklin, KY; 2 siblings, Steve Ellis of Woodburn, KY and Lucy Ellis Bond (Jackie) of Franklin, KY; 2 nephews and 1 niece, Robbie Ellis, Cameron Bond and Mallory Henderson (Jake), 1 great-nephew and 3 great-nieces, Zayden Vaughn, Kailyn Bond, Ellis Henderson and Mallie Henderson.

Rodney was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin, KY. He was a 1971 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He was retired from the US Army and Outokumpu Manufacturing and was a cattle farmer. 

He enjoyed cattle farming, gardening and was an avid UK basketball fan.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o Marie Pitts, 1006 Seng Ave. Franklin, KY 42134.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
