Robert "Bob" Eugene White

Robert (Bob) White, 81 formerly of Franklin, KY passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh, NC after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Franklin Church of Christ, 700 South Main Street, Franklin, KY with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.  Visitation and an ice cream social will be held at the Franklin Church of Christ on the same day from 1:30 PM until the time of the service.

Bob was born May 8, 1940, to the late Delois and Marcella White in Mentone, IN. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald White of Nashville, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Donnieta Chaffin; a sister, Janet Akers (John) of Nolensville, TN; a sister-in-law, Donna White of Nashville, TN; sons, Jeff White (Allison) of Freeport, IL and Mike White (Debbie) of Memphis, TN; and a daughter, Missy Givens (Jason) of Apex, NC.  He will be missed by three grandchildren, Ben White (Casey), Jonathan White (Taylor), and Ella Givens; and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Fiona, and Declan; as well as three nieces and four nephews.

Bob and Donnieta lived 41 years in Franklin, Ky.  He was a 1962 graduate of David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN where he met his wife, Donnieta, of 60 years.  A cost accountant for Potter and Brumfield in Franklin for 18 years, Bob spent the last 12 years of his career as the Chief Financial Officer for MPD, Inc in Owensboro, KY.  Bob was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ where he served as an elder and mentor for many years.  He also served as an elder for the Owensboro Church of Christ and often taught bible class and preached at other congregations as needs arose.  One of his favorite ‘roles’ was as camp director for Simpson County Youth Camp held each summer at Taylor Christian Camp outside of Scottsville, KY.  Bob loved to travel, fish, camp, and eat ice cream.  But since 1986 his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
