As the passing of another day for most of God’s children, we find ourselves missing a presence of a life taken from us way too soon…and all we can do now is remember the amazing man that unfortunately Robert Wesley Creek only had a few years to be before our good Lord called him home.
Robert Creek was only 25 years old with the rest of his life still in front of him when a tragic motorcycle accident sent him to be with our Savior after a brief stay at Vanderbilt Hospital where he passed away early on April 22, 2023. He leaves behind his beautiful fiancé Rachel Wasyliw who is carrying their unborn daughter and his mother Rinda Herrington (Karen), who with a heavy heart has had to say goodbye to her youngest son.
He is also survived by a surrogate father James Henry Snider (“Doc”), two brothers Brandon Green (Linda) and William Creek (Emily), two step-brothers Gabe Barber and Tristan Settles, and a little sister Jaleigh Herrington, grandmother Mary Gregory, and many more relatives and friends. Great-grandmother Rosemary Gregory and Grandfather Wilburn Floyd also have made an impact on his short life. On this day in April we are having to say goodbye too soon but as that weighs heavy on us, we know that our precious baby will be greeted in Heaven by his adored Great-grandfather John Wesley Gregory, a cousin Wesley Gregory, and an Uncle Tommy Gregory.
Robert was born January 9, 1998, and attended mainly Simpson County Schools until his Sophomore year when he attended Springfield High School where his “father” was School Counselor, and graduated from there as an honor student, active club member, officer, varsity bowling team captain, and more. He attended Western Kentucky University on a full scholarship, but later suffered a few setbacks which he had overcome. He spent a summer in Germany in a learning experience, visited several European countries, met numerous political leaders, and even attended a Presidential Inauguration. He was saved while attending Macedonia Baptist Church and when the need arose, volunteered to lead the music at West Madison Baptist Church. He cared deeply about his God and about other people, and that caring will continue as he was an organ donor. He also was an avid athlete and was on his way to umpire a baseball game when the accident occurred. Lately he was attending Holy Family Catholic Church with his fiancé Rachel and her parents Cathy and Walt Wasyliw. He and Rachel shared a love for fast cars, fishing, and going to the beach. He also loved animals and will be missed by his 4 dogs: Magnus, Bear, Roxie, and Oreo.
