Rita Faye Whitaker

Mrs. Rita Whitaker, age 59 of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her residence in Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 1. 2025 at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY

Rita was born on March 29, 1965 in Sumner County, TN to the late Raymond Hackney and to the late Nellie (Groves) Hackney. She is also preceded in death by 1 granddaughter and 3 siblings.

She is survived by her spouse of 45 years, Robert Whitaker, 3 children, Robin Castleberry (Kody) of Franklin, KY, Derek Whitaker of Franklin, KY and Aimee Whitaker (Mike) of Franklin, KY; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 5 siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

Rita was a member of Byrum’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed crosswords, computer games, crime shows and loving the grandbabies.
