Ralph Douglas Key

Mr. Ralph Douglas Key, age 75 of Franklin, KY. entered into rest Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:10 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2017 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late James Martin Key and the late Sarah Richardson Key.  He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Key and sister Lorene Houchens.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancye Link Key; 3 sons Jimmy Douglas Key (Tonya) of Rockfield, KY., Jeffery Scott Key and James Lawrence Key (Courtney) both of Franklin,KY.;  a brother James William Key (Sharon) of Woodburn, KY. and Margaret Jett of Franklin, KY.; 2 half sistersBrice Key of Shepardsville, KY. and Dorothy Crank of Crab Orchard, KY.; 6 grandchildren Brittany, Trevor, Gunnar, Maddox, Jagger and Neeley Key; a great grandson Jaxon Kinnarney; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Key was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, a former employee of the City of Franklin and Simpson County Road Dept. He was an avid fan of UK basketball, football and Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson.

Visitation will begin Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM Sunday until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
