Pennie Ruth (Gregory) Jenkins

Mrs. Pennie R. Jenkins, age 60, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at 5:15 AM at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 28th from 6:00 AM until funeral service time. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Pennie was born on May 20, 1962 in Franklin, KY to the late Zeke Wilson Gregory and the late Willie Ruth Henson. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Rickey Wilson Gregory.

She is survived by her spouse of 5 years, Phillip Jenkins of Franklin, KY; 2 children, Stephanie Denise Smith of Franklin, KY and Carnetta Charlotte Skipworth (Mitchell) of Scottsville, KY; 3 grandchildren, Noah Michael Smith, Tristan Phillip Skipworth, and Adalyn Jade Skipworth; 1 brother, Charlie Gregory (Melissa) of Franklin, KY; and her dog, Snuggs.

Pennie was a retired manufacturing specialist of 32 years from the Kendall Company/Berry Plastics. She enjoyed shopping, walking with friends, dancing, and traveling. Most of her free time was spent helping her family and her friends, always trying her best to take care of everyone.   She always enjoyed life, fiercely loved her grandchildren, and attended as many of their extracurricular events as possible. She touched the lives of her family and friends giving selflessly to ensure their happiness and well-being. Everyone who knew her had the honor of experiencing an angel here on earth.
