Otis Coleman Like

Mr. Otis Coleman Like, age 84, of Scottsville, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 23^rd, 2024 at 9:06 am at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26^th, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.  Masonic Services will be held at May 26^th, 2024 at 5:00 PM at funeral home with military rites by the Simpson County Honor Guard.

Otis was born on October 24^th, 1939 in Pinkstaff, IL, to the late Ollie Otis Like and the late Emma Minnie Owen Like. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Like Brown; and 6 siblings, Earl D. McKelvey, James Earl Like, Fred Like, Dorothy Webster, Wava Short Spears and Linda Britton. 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen Like; 3 children, Coleman Like of Scottsville, KY, Ellen Birdwell (Jeff) of Scottsville, KY and Becky Sampson (Jonathan) of Franklin, KY; 8 grandchildren, Coleman, Emma, Misty, Jeffery, James, Tyler, C.J. and Dillon; 24 great-grandchildren. 

Otis was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a former member and deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church. Otis was member of the Masonic Lodge #208 F&AM.  He was a retired truck driver for Bestway.  Otis enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and especially sitting on the front porch enjoying nature while smoking a cigar.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to American Cancer Society, c/o Marie Pitts, 1006 Seng Ave., Franklin, KY 42134.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
