A former Franklin, Ky. resident, Mrs. Nannie Lou Dunn, age 93 of Simpsonville, S.C.. entered into rest Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Hospital in Simpsonsville, S.C.
She was born to the late George and Cassie Holman on January 13, 1921 in Simpson County. In 1945, she married the late William (Bill) Dunn, a World War II veteran and co-owner of Dunn Bros., spending all of her married life in Franklin.
She is the mother of two daughters, Shirley Davis of Point Lookout, MO, and Nancy Barton of Simpsonville, SC. She is "Grandmother" to Jeffrey Davis, Julie Hopkins, Sara June Osborne and Jessica Barton Gerel. She is "Gigi" to Abigail and Christian Davis; Grace Ann, Bethany and Bonnie Hopkins; and Sophia, Eleanor and Moses Osborne and a sister Ruth Evans of Franklin, Ky.
Nannie Lou was "Miss Nannie Lou" to countless 4-5 year olds that she taught in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Sunbeam classes at Franklin First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Garden Club, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Hospital Auxiliary.
