Mrs. Nancy Childress, age 84 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Thursday, November 26, 2015 at her daughter’s residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2015 with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.

Born October 5, 1931 in Nashville, TN., she was the daughter of the late Homer C. Grow and the late Bernice Alexander Grow.  She was the wife of the late William “Bill” Childress.  Her sister Betty Jo Grow Cushenberry preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Julianna Childress Jepson(Ben) of Franklin, KY., 3 grandchildren Jama Jepson(Carlos Lara), Jessica Pinson(Keith) and Josh Jepson(Chelsea) all of Franklin, KY., 4 great grandchildren Taylor and Seth Pinson and Jacey Lara and River Jepson and 3 nephews.

Mrs. Childress was a member of the Franklin First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School, VBS and a lead in WMU, acting as Associate Director of WMU of the Ohio River Association and sang in the Reflections Choir and a Missionary Volunteer.  She earned her degree from WKU and was retired teacher having taught in Leslie Co., KY., Carlisle Co., KY. and retiring from Livingston Co. KY. School System. She was the FHA Advisor at each school she taught.  She was also a member of the Simpson County Retired Teachers and Simpson County Homemakers.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2015  and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Sunday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
