Mrs. Mildred Hendricks Adams, age 95 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:55 A.M. at the Health Care Center at Adams Place in Murfreesboro, TN.
A native of Simpson Co., KY. she was the daughter of the late William Wesley Akin and Lena Ellen Barnard Akin. She was the wife of the late Frank E. Hendricks and the late Willie Ben Adams. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by 2 daughters Martha Ellen Penick (Bill) of Wilmington, N.C. and Judy Campbell (Don) of Murfreesboro, TN., a step-daughter Bennie Wilson (Charles) of Franklin, KY., 2 step-sons Jackie Adams (Etta Jane) of Franklin, Ky., W.B. Adams (Margaret Ann) of Woodburn, KY., 4 grandchildren Lee Penick Colamarino (Gerry), Frank Penick, Jason Campbell (Jessica) and Alan Campbell (Jennifer) 4 great grandchildren 5 step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Maggie Chaney.
A classy lady, She was a 1936 graduate of Franklin High School, she was a member of the Franklin First Baptist Church where she was recognized as the longest living member, Philatahea Sunday School Class, Reflections Choir, Eastern Star, Ella Hoy Music Club. She was retired from Potter & Brumfield after 23 years. She enjoyed traveling with groups across the country and over seas and enjoyed 36 years of winters in Florida with many friends. She was and avid quilter and enjoyed needle point.
