Mr. Mike Mayes, age 65 of Cadiz, KY., entered into rest Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1:34 PM at the Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017. Cremation was chosen.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son the late James Robert Mayes and the late Nellie Ruth Kinslow Mayes.
He is survived by his wife Ann Mayes of Cadiz, KY., 2 daughters Angela Reeves Avery (Ret. MGST Danny Chris) of Tipp City, OH. and Ruth Ann Mayes Haddad (Jeffery) of Dallas, TX.; 3 aunts Olivia Mayes Hall (Bob) of Franklin, KY., Becky Mayes Mobley of Indianapolis, IN. and Evelyn Mayes of Louisville, KY.; granddaughter Morgane Lea Avery, a student of the University of Alaska at Anchorage and several cousins.
Mr. Mayes was a member of the First Christian Church and a 1969 FSHS graduate. He was an avid fisherman and member of the FS Bass Club. He loved UK Basketball and NASCAR racing.
Visitation will begin Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM until service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
