Mary Jo Payne Hendricks

Mrs. Mary Jo Payne Hendricks, age 85 of Franklin, KY. entered into rest Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 12:46 AM at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2017 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Born in Simpson Co., KY. on May 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. “Joe” Finn and the late Mildred Bailey Finn. She was the wife of the late Elvis “Dink” Payne and the late Bobby Hendricks.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Alex Smith.

She is survived by her children Larry Payne (Wanda), Linda Phillips (David) and Anita Smith all of Franklin, KY., 2 step-sons Danny Hendricks of Franklin, KY. and Mike Hendricks of Indiana, a sister  Robbie Stinson (Danny) of Springfield, TN., 7 grandchildren Tom and Brian Payne, Pamela Baldock, Daphne Mitchell, Chad Phillips, Kelli Montague and Scott Smith, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great grandsons and 4 step grandchildren.

Mrs. Hendricks was a member of the Macedonia General Baptist Church.  She was retired secretary with the Simpson County School System after 28 years.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 and from  6:00 AM until funeral service time Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
