Martha Sue Whitley

Mrs. Martha Sue Whitley, age 72 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, June 14, 2011  at 10:52 P. M. at the Hopkins Care and Rehabilitation Center in Woodburn, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Frank Shannon and the late Lora Jones Shannon.  She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Freeman Whitley.

She is survived by 2 daughters:  Vicka Bragg and her husband Lyndell of Glasgow, KY. and Shannon Whitley Hawks and her husband Mark of Franklin, KY.;  a sister Nancy Law of Atlanta, GA.;  3 grandchildren:  Christopher Hawks, Michelle Hawks and Kaleb Saltsman and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Whitley was a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church, employee of Simpson County Bank as branch manger and office manger of the McDonalds Burrell franchise.

She was a member of the Ella Hoy Goodnight Music Club, United Methodist Women and Friends of the Goodnight Library.  She loved music and was pianist for several churches and an avid book collector.
