Marie (Cardwell) Eden

Mrs. Marie Eden, age 93, of Franklin, KY, passed away on February 11, 2022 at 6:32 AM at The Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Funeral services will be held the same day, Monday, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Marie was born on January 25, 1929 in Simpson County, KY to the late Luther M. Cardwell and the late Velvie Mae Jones Cardwell.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Eden and a son, Darrell Eden.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Teresa Eden; 2 grandsons, Jason Eden of Chattanooga, TN and Chris Eden of Ellabell, GA; 3 great-granddaughters; and 1 great-grandson.

Marie was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin, KY.  She worked at the Kendall Company for 24 years before retirement.  Marie was a member of AARP and the Red Hat Society also known as the “Red Hat Sweeties”.
