Mrs. Marie Arney, age 82, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:00 A .M. at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., she was the daughter of the late Edward Keen Finn and the late Lillie Sloan Finn. She was preceded in death by a son Joe Mark Arney.
She is survived by her husband John F. Arney, daughter Jana Hammock (Eddie) and a son John M. Arney ( Jamie) all of Franklin, KY.; a sister Malinda Gomer of Franklin, KY., 2 brothers: Harold Finn of Nashville, TN. and Wayne Finn of Hopkinsville, KY.; 6 grandchildren: Dustin Hammock, Morgan Arney, Jadie Hammock, Mary Patton Arney, Payne Arney and Madeline Arney.
Mrs. Arney was a retired school teacher and administrator for 42 years for the Simpson County Board of Education and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. She was a member of Franklin BPW Club and was awarded Woman of the Year, President of the Simpson County Education Association, President of the Retired Teachers Association, Simpson County Farm Bureau board member, member of the Goodnight Library Board and Sunday School teacher.
