Maccie Atwood

Mrs. Maccie Atwood, age 92 of Franklin, KY., entered into Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 5:30 AM at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Mrs. Atwood was born May 12, 1925 in Macon Co., TN. to the late William Curry Brown and the late Allie Huffines Brown.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Atwood and was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by 2 daughters Jane McCoy of Torrance, CA and Gail Yanko (Richard) of Bowling Green, KY., 2 grandchildren Carey Chaffin (Mike), Marcus McCoy, 2 great grandchildren Weston and Casen Chaffin, 2 step grandchildren Lori Camplin and Amy Jewsikow and 2 step great grandchildren Brian and Jason Jewsikow, 2 sister-in-laws Mary Draughn of Bowling Green, KY. and Alice Atwood of Goodlettsville, TN. and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Atwood was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  She had worked as a secretary at the Carter-Moore Hospital, and retired from the City of Franklin where she was a clerk at the water department, after retirement from the city she went to work for the Simpson County School System where she worked in the high school cafeteria.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 and from 6:00 AM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
