Louise (Finn) Summers

Mrs. Louise Summers, age 94, of Franklin, KY, passed away, due to a broken heart, on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 8:18 PM in her farmhouse of 50 years that her and her late husband raised their son in.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 8:00 AM until funeral service time.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Louise was born on October 3, 1928 to the late Joseph and Tiny (Jones) Finn and is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Summers; son, Gary Summers; and brother, James Finn, all of Franklin, KY.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Summers; 3 grandchildren, Dawn Johnson of Bowling Green, KY, Jamie Summers (Natalie) of Franklin, KY and John Summers (Erin) of Franklin, KY; 8 great-grandchildren, Tawni, Erik, Jackson, Maeson, Kasen, Logan, Gracie and Coleson; and 7 great-great-grandchildren, Javin, Kanyon, River, Paisley, Caiden, Gracelynn and Karson.

Louise was a member of Round Pond Church in Franklin, KY.  She was a keeper of things and buyer of antiques.  She was always loved by the auctioneers and hated by the attenders.  She also had many passions, her dog Lulu being at the top of that list.  Louise loved to watch her western shows but her favorite things were her flowers.  She grew every variety possible.  The members of Round Pond Church will surely miss the altar bouquets that she provided when possible.

Louise was always the hardest worker on the farm, could do any job a man could do and didn’t hesitate to remind you even after retiring many years ago.  She loved riding around to the field to watch the crops grow and the harvest take place.
