Mr. Louis E. Kirby, age 70 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:40 P. M. at his residence.
Funeral services are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Harry Kirby and the late Isabel Byrum Kirby. He was preceded in death by a sister Annie Reid “Susie” Rhea, 2 brothers Donald M. Kirby and Ollie “Spudie” Kirby.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Kirby and son Kelly Kirby (Tammy) all of Franklin, KY.; 3 brothers Bruce Kirby of Savannah, GA., Lindsey Kirby of New Richmond, OH. and Brent Kirby of Franklin, KY.; 3 grandchildren Charlie King Kirby, Grace Kelli Kirby and Cole Kirby; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kirby was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church, he was employed in management/grocery retail, and a member of the F-S Quarterback Club. His hobby was farming, he loved to travel and watch his grandsons play ball and granddaughter dance.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 27, 2015 at 2:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. and Saturday at 6:00 A. M. until funeral service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Blackjack Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church Building Fund.
