Ms. Lorrie Diamond, age 53, of Franklin, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 at The TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM.
Lorrie was born March 5th, 1969 in Franklin, KY to Charles Allen Tuttle and Brenda Louise Tuttle whom survive and reside in Portland, TN. She is also survived her 2 daughters, Dana Hester (Shane) of Franklin, KY and Hanna Wilkerson (Nick) of Scottsville, KY; 3 grandchildren, Halle Victoria Hester, Faithlynne Grace Wilkerson, Elijah J Wilkerson; a sister, Angela Stout (Tommy) of Portland, TN; 2 nieces, 4 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew; and a host of loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Robert Todd Adams; Maternal grandparents, James Robert (Bob) and Velma Brandon; Paternal grandparents, Author and Mamie Tuttle.
As a kid, she could often be found on family camping trips or riding her 10 speed bike (she refused a regular bike).
Like the bright light she was, she loved to be outside soaking the summer sunshine, driving back country roads with the windows down, taking her grandkids swimming, coloring, eating at Red Lobster, Greek restaurants, or Indian buffets, Dana’s cooking (except crawfish), telling Hanna what to do, visiting with friends, and an insane amount of black pepper and cottage cheese. Lorrie enjoyed attending church and hearing the singing most of all.
Over the past year and a half, Lorrie spent several days at Centennial Medical Center. She loved receiving special fist bumps from Dr. Tom Mcrae and “tough love” from Jamie Deneau, talking with LeeAnn Dennery, vacation planning with Dr. Duc Nguyen and cutting up with Drs. Paul Bryant, Keith Habeeb and all her other providers.
Her nurses on 5T became her second home and her care team became her honorary daughters, sons and close friends. There she was nicknamed “Fancy Pants”. She pushed them around halls, “worked” in the office, and served as resident match-maker. She was a spokesperson for all things LVAD related. They ordered her Panera, made her milkshakes, and braided her hair. Most of all they expressed unconditional love and compassion towards her. In addition to her family, she was cared for at home by her nurse and friend Sara Beth Stewart.
In her own words she was “the biggest Diamond you will ever see”
