Lloyd Douglas Colbert

Mr. Lloyd Douglas “Doug” Colbert, age 84, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 12:55 AM at his residence in Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26th, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Doug was born on June 12, 1938 in St. Louis, MO to the late John O. Colbert and Evelyn Nelson Colbert.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jerri Colbert; 3 children, Bruce Colbert (Janet) from Wentzville, MO, Brian Colbert (Kathy) of Warrenton, MO and Laurel Zach (Don) of Eolia, MO; 2 step children, Mike Hastings (Stephanie) of Franklin, KY and Randy Hastings(Trish) of Nashville, TN; 13 grandchildren, Donnie Mordis, Melanie Quinn, Brandon Colbert, Adam Colbert, Mickel Dickerson, Jill Broeker, Joe Stifel, Jay Stifel, Jenna Holloway, Josh Hastings, Mick Hastings, Brock Hastings and Paige Hastings; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Ted Colbert of Fayetteville, GA.

Doug was a member of the Silex Assembly of God Church in Silex, MO. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. He retired from Lucent Technologies in St. Louis, MO after 32 ½ years.

Some of Doug’s hobbies were camping and scroll sawing.  He owned a scroll saw and wood working business during his retirement.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105-9959, envelopes will be provided at funeral home.
