Mr. L.L. “Jack” Summers, age 93 of Franklin, KY. entered into rest Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 4:24 PM at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky.
Funeral services are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2015 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY, with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard.
A native of Simpson Co., KY, he was the son of the late James Luther “Cole” Summers and the late Mary Bet Dobbs Summers. He was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Kirby and 2 brothers Paul and Denver Summers.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Louise Summers, a son Gary Summers (Cindy) of Franklin, KY, 2 grandsons Jamie Summers (Natalie) and John Summers (Jessica) both of Franklin, Ky., a granddaughter Dawn Johnson of Bowling Green, KY., 5 great grandchildren Tawni Ladd, Erik Johnson, Jackson Summers, Maeson Summers and Logan Summers, 2 great great grandchildren Javin Ewing and Paisley Johnson..
Mr. Summers was a member of the Round Pond Presbyterian Church and American Legion. He was WWII Army Veteran and retired 2nd generation farmer.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Friday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
