Simpson County's oldest resident, Mrs. Lillie Mae Huffines Chaney, age 102 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:50 P. M. at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.
A native of Simpson Co., Ky. she was the daughter of the late John R. Huffines and the late Mary Moye Huffines. She was the wife of the late Willie Horatio Chaney. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Huffines Hinton.
She is survived by 2 daughters Marilyn Gayle Chaney and Carolle Chaney Tracy (Arthur Russell Jr.) of Franklin, Ky., 4 grandchildren Stephen Wayne Mayes, Craig Scott Mayes, Jennifer Tracy Macias and Jonathan Russell Tracy, 6 great grandchildren Angelina Maria Macias, Tracie Chane' Macias, Landon Richard Macias, Conner Scott Mayes, William Peyton Mayes and Luke Russell Tracy.
Mrs. Chaney was saved in the Round Pond Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, a former member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Franklin First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was chairwoman of the Missionary Circle, leader for Girls Auxiliary, a Training Union Leader and member of the Adult Choir. She was a retired school teacher with the Simpson County School System and was a Kentucky Colonel.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all of the love and special attention giving to her by her caregivers during the years of her illness.
