Lena Mae (Reagan) Cornwell

Mrs. Lena Mae Cornwell, age 94, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Monday, July 11th, 2022 at 6:55 PM at her residence.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2022 at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at funeral home with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Mae was born May 20, 1928 in Simpson Co., KY to the late Genie Reagan and the late Lena Holland Reagan.

She married her late husband, Marshall Libborn Cornwell on April 5, 1947.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Cornwell Bennett (Rodney) of Louisville, KY, a grandson, Christopher Bennett, a granddaughter, Michelle Renee Bennett and a sister Helen Rust.

Mae was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  At age 16 she went to work at a restaurant until she married. After marriage she worked at Kuhn Five and Dime Store until the moved to farm in Middleton.  She retired from Drackett/Lenk/Bristol Myer’s Squibb after 36 years.  After retirement from factory she work at Ma and Pa’s Diner and the Townhouse Restaurant for many years.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Franklin Church of Christ at P.O. Box 511 Franklin, KY 42135 and envelopes will be available at funeral home.
