Lawrence Guy Phillips

Mr. Lawrence Guy Phillips, age 97 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:30 P. M. at his residence.
A native of Simpson Co., Ky., he was born July 28, 1912 to the late John and Edna Wright Phillips. He was the husband of the Bernice Tanner Phillips for 70 years. He was preceded in death by a son Larry Lynn Phillips, 2 brothers Delbert and Cecil Phillips and 2 sisters Lucy Mae Hyde and Edith Lorene Phillips.
He is survived by 2 daughters Shirley Norwood and her husband Thomas and Emalene Hughes and her husband John Allen all of Franklin, KY., 3 grandchildren Philip Norwood and his wife Linda, Faye Jackson and her husband Eddie all of Franklin, KY. and Johnny Hughes and his wife Jenny of Campbellsville, KY., 6 great grandchildren Scott Norwood and his wife Stephanie, Daniel Norwood and his wife Leanna, Tyler Jackson, Lauren Elizabeth Hughes, Alexander (Alex) Hughes and Jackson (Jack) Hughes, 2 great-great grandchildren Matthew and Courtney Norwood. The family would like to thank a special friend Mrs. Marie Eden of Franklin, KY.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ where he had served as trustee, deacon, and elder in the congregation. He graduated from Barnes High School in 1933, he then attended barber school in nashville, TN. where he remained active in the barber profession until 2008 .
