Mr. Kurt Dinkens, age 32, of Franklin, KY, passed away Monday, October 12th, 2020 at 1:28 PM at The University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, 303 East Cedar Street, Franklin, KY on Friday, October 16th, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 from 6:00 AM until funeral service time. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Saturday, October 17th at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. ***MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED UPON ENTRY TO FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH***.
Kurt was born on Novermber 3rd, 1987 in Nashville, TN to his parents Rick and Brenda Lawson Dinkens of Franklin, KY. He is also survived by his beautiful wife of 3 years, Kati Wilburn Dinkens of Franklin, KY; 2 children, Emersyn Dinkens and Greyson Dinkens; 1 brother, Keith Dinkens (Karie) of Franklin, KY; his step-father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Lori Berish of Pulaski, TN; nieces and nephews, Garrett Dinkens, Kenlee Estep, Braxton Dinkens and Addison Dinkens; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl & Claudine Dinkens and maternal grandparents, Cordell & Patty Lawson.
Kurt was a 2006 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School in Franklin, KY. After high school, he enjoyed coaching varsity football for the Wildcats. He and his family attend Sulphur Spring Baptist Church in Simpson, County. Kurt worked at Logan Aluminum in Russellville, KY. He enjoyed spending all his time with his wife, Kati, and beautiful baby girl, Emmy Kate. Kurt enjoyed spending time in the woods with his brother and 2 nephews deer hunting or whatever came in front of them that needed to be shot. He was also a huge UK fan. Kurt was a wonderful man, a great husband and super, great father and a great son. Kurt, you will be greatly missed by many!
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Dinken’s Family Children's Educational Fund and can be dropped off to Gilbert Funeral Home staff at the church or at Gilbert Funeral Home, 325 West Cedar Street, Franklin, KY. 42134.
