Karen Lea Monroe

Ms. Karen Lea Monroe, age 57, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 21, from 6:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. 

Karen was born on October 1, 1967 in Franklin, KY to the late Calvin Walter and the late Evelyn White Brown (Wayne). She is also preceded in death by her grandmother, “Momma White” and her aunts and uncles, Chick White, Earl White, Scott White, Betty Rogers, and Doug White.

She is survived by two daughters, Peri Monroe (Cameron) of Franklin, KY and Addison Monroe, of Franklin, KY; 8 cousins, Robert, Gail, Steve, Dennis, Chuck, Kevin, Troy, and Amber; two aunts, Wilma Bohannon and Lynda Pippin (Jimmy); and special friends, Amy Ellis, Lisa Cummings Scott, and Gina Duke.

Karen was a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School and Western Kentucky University, where she was a Chi Omega and a Sigma Chi Sweetheart. She was a member of Franklin First United Methodist Church. Karen loved going to the beach and spending time with her loved ones and fur babies.
