Judy Carter Stovall, 71, of Franklin, passed away Saturday at the Hospice
House of Bowling Green, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 11, 1943 in Franklin to the late Ernest & Evelyn Carter.
Judy graduated from Franklin Simpson High School in 1961 and was married to John P. Stovall.
Judy was the first teachers aid at Van Voorhis Elementary School at Fort
Knox, Kentucky. She enjoyed participating at the Officers, NCO and the
Enlisted Men's Clubs teaching cake decorating and bread making to other
military wives.
After coming home to Franklin, Judy worked many years as an Activities
Director at nursing homes in Auburn and Franklin. She always loved to
decorate wedding cakes, grow her hybrid Iris and spending time with the
Southern Ky. Iris Society and she had over 150 varieties and the Franklin Garden Club One of her many passions was being a part of the Kentucky State Fair Board and working with young women in preparation for pageant competitions.
Judy is survived by her husband John and their three sons: Michael (Shelia)
Stovall of Franklin; John (Carol) Stovall of Nashville; and Mark (Karen)
Stovall of Owensboro. She also is survived by four grandchildren: Andrew
Stovall; Evan Blair; Delaney Stovall; Carter Stovall; and two great-grand
Children: Mathew and Jacob Blair.
