Mrs. Judy Edna Diers, age 75, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 20223 at the TriStar Greenview Medical Center, in Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 701 South Main Street in Franklin, KY. A memorial service will be held the same day, Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Diers' wishes are to be cremated.
Judy was born on February 8, 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Harold Fred Peter Butterfass and the late Edna Emma (Dehnbostel) Butterfass. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Diers.
She is survived by her 3 children, Peter David Diers (Shannon Lydia) of Keller, TX, Aaron Daniel Diers (Mandy Lea) of Leo, IN and Abigail Susan Diers (Brian Christopher Luttinen) of Glen Carbon, IL; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Ian, Kyle, Rhys, Tamsyn, Asher and Jack; a brother, Dennis Butterfass (Nancy); a sister Linda (Butterfass) Krienke (Wally); and 5 nieces and nephews.
Judy attended St. James Lutheran School and then Howard Lake High School where she met the love of her life, Jerome August Diers, who became her husband of 55 years.
As early as age 5 she was helping on the Butterfass family farm driving tractors. After marrying Jerome, she worked for 6 years on the Diers Corp family farm until Jerome’s studies took them to Seguin, TX. Over the years, she held several different jobs as well as volunteer positions, which she enjoyed including Good Samaritan Food Pantry treasurer in Franklin, KY and helping with the annual Zion Lutheran Church Bazaar.
Judy enjoyed vacations with her family in Padre Island, Wisconsin Dells, and Glacier National Park. Her hobbies included quilting and baking.
Judy had a heart full of service and was self-sacrificing putting the needs of others first, particularly her family. Also, she was always engaged in church activities.
To her kids and grandchildren, she was their biggest supporter in all their endeavors and achieving their dreams.
