Josephine Scruggs Templeton

Mrs. Josephine Scruggs Templeton, age 93 of Franklin, Ky., entered into rest Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. with burial to follow in the Eulia Cemetery in Macon Co., Tn.

A native of Macon Co., Tn., she was the daughter of the late Whitten Scruggs and the late Bertha Hammock Scruggs.  She was preceded in death by 2 daughters Billie Simpson and Melba Akins.

She is survived by 3 grandchildren;  David Akins, Jr. of Franklin, Ky., Teresa Simpson Scotti of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Cindy Akins Smalling of Adolphus, Ky.; 8 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Templeton was a member of the Drakes Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  She retired from Genesco and was a former employee of the Medical Center Coronary Unit.  She was a member of the AARP #335 and loved playing Canasta and Rook with her closest friends.

Visitation will begin Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 4:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. and 6:00 A. M. Friday until funeral service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
