Johnny William Farmer

Mr. Johnny William Farmer, age 87, of Franklin, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 8th, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 9th from 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held Friday, June 9th, at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.

Johnny was born December 29th, 1935 in Simpson Co., KY. to the late Elijah Caroll Farmer and the late Eula Florence Farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Lee Farmer; 2 children, Sharon Gail Cassetty (Steve) of Franklin, KY and Susan Carol Hobbs of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Carrie Cassetty (Dylan Sims), Steven Cassetty, Dillon Henderson (Kylie), Gracie Hobbs and Terry Hobbs, Jr; 2 siblings, Frankie McClellan of Allen Co., KY and Ben Farmer of Franklin, KY.

Johnny was a 1956 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Franklin, KY.  He was a former member of the Simpson Co. Rescue Squad. He loved to go fishing and camping and loved to spend time with his family.
