Mr. John Wesley Vaughn, age 72, of Portland, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Vaughn’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22nd at Providence Cemetery, Simpson County, KY.

John was born on October 13, 1949 in Nashville, TN to the late Louise Swaw Vaughn and the late John Davis Vaughn. He was also preceded in death by his 6 siblings; Bertha Gosnell, Bobby Gosnell, Charles “Skeeter” Vaughn, Mickey Vaughn, Jimmy Vaugh, and Garland Vaughn.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Groves Vaughn; 3 children, Melissa “Lulu” Williams (Timmy), of Franklin, KY, Leslie Vaughn, of Portland,TN  Lisa Costello (Andrew) of Portland, TN; 7 grandchildren, Haley Acker (Josh), Breanna Freeman (Brian), Hannah Williams, John “Bubba” Williams, James Costello, Courtnie Costello, Ethan Costello, and 3 sisters; Johnnie Tucker of Nashville, TN, Evelyn Keen (Charles) of Portland, TN , Billie “ Tootsie” Hopkins (Earl) of Portland, TN.

John was a member of Macedonia General Baptist. He was a retired welder of 40 years from Boiler Supply Company and in his free time enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, and piddling in the yard.
