John Allen Hughes

Mr. John Allen Hughes, age 76 of Franklin, Ky., entered into rest Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 7:30 P. M. at his residence.
Born in Simpson Co., Ky. on July 22, 1945, he was the son of the late John Thomas Hughes and the late Ruby Jones Hughes.
He is survived by his wife of 48 wonderful years Emalene Phillips Hughes and a son John Allen Hughes, Jr. and wife Jenny Wells Hughes of Campbellsville, KY.; a sister Betty Hughes Goodrum of Franklin, Ky. and 3 grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth Hughes, Alexander Grant Hughes and Jackson Thomas Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was a teacher, coach and administrator in the Simpson County School system for 31 years. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. A member of the Franklin Church of Christ he faithfully served as a deacon for many years. John Allen was a man short in stature, but a man with a gigantic heart. He loved his family with all his heart and soul. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who loved and knew him, but never forgotten. He touched the lives of many in this community and his presence will live on.
