Mr. John Henry Brown, age 89, of Franklin, KY passed away Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 at 11:15 PM at the Medical Center of Scottsville, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, December 13th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard. The service will be broadcast on Facebook Live on our Facebook page. ***Masks will be required upon entry and worn inside the facility at all times.***
John Henry was born on August 6th, 1931 in Franklin, KY to the late Haskell Brown, Sr. and the late Novis Belle Pedigo Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Alma “Sue” Carol Brown; 1 daughter, Lisa Wallace of Franklin, KY; 1 grandson, Sammy Wallace; 2 sisters, Martha Williams of Franklin, KY and Ruby Houskins of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
John Henry served in the US Army and served in the Korean War (Conflict). He worked at the Kendall Company for 25 years before retirement. John Henry was a member of Old Zion Heritage Way Baptist Church in Warren County, KY. He was a past deacon of Red Hill General Baptist Church for 5 years. John Henry was a member of the American Legion Post #62. He loved carpentry, working in his garage making things.
