Joe Henry Weidemann

Mr. Joe Henry Weidemann, age 86 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 8:19 AM with his daughters by his side, at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2016 with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY. with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late John Henry Weidemann and the late Melissa Price Weidemann.  His wife of 60 years, Martha Arney Weidemann preceded him in death.

He is survived by 2 daughters Wanda Weidemann and Joyce Weidemann Young both of Bowling Green, KY., a sister Annie Evelyn Richey of Franklin, KY., a niece Linda Halcomb (James) and a great nephew Joey Halcomb all of Portland, TN.

Mr. Weidemann was a 75 year member of the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church, where he previously served as a deacon, trustee and Sunday School Teacher.  He was chairman of the Sulphur Spring Cemetery Committee for 25 years. He had also attended West Madison Baptist Church. He was a past master and 50 year member of the Simpson Benevolent Lodge #177.  He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and 50 year member of the American Legion Post 62.  He had served for 29 years as the Simpson County Property Valuation Administrator.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2016 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church, Sulphur Spring Cemetery, West Madison Baptist Church or to the Simpson County Honor Guard.
