Joan Gore

Mrs. Joan Gore, age 88, of Martinsville, IN, formerly of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Mooresville, IN.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held the same day, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery.

Joan was born on July 6, 1936 in Simpson County, KY to the late Norman Gregory and the late Sabrie Ella (Chandler) Gregory. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Gore, Jr.; a son, James Monroe Gore III; a grandson, John Timothy Gore; a son in-law, Andrew Taylor; and three siblings, Betty Glaze, Norman Gregory and James Gregory.

She is survived by two children, John Gore of Bargersville, IN and Judy Ann Taylor of Grand Rapids, MI; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Joan was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church . She started working at 12 years old and worked a lot of different jobs. She spent many years as a sewing teacher. Joan was a seamstress and had a shop in her home. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother.
