Jimmie D. Herrington

Mr. Jimmie D. Herrington age 79, of Franklin, KY., entered into rest, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:10 PM the Hopkins Care and Rehab Center in Woodburn, KY.

Funeral services are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2016 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Allen Co., KY., he was the son of the late Aubrey Lee Herrington and the late Nell Ruth Harris Herrington.  He was preceded in death by his wife Nina Dean Rigdon Herrington, sister Nancy Lee Chaffin and brother-in-law Roy Dale Chaffin.

He is survived by his daughter Becky Herrington Moats (Shannon) of Clarksville, TN. and son Todd Herrington (Cara Hodges) of Franklin, KY.; a sister Millie Ann Milam (Kenneth) of Bowling Green, KY.; 5 grandchildren Daniel Winn, Brooke Herrington, Josh Herrington, Zack Herrington and Kayla Herrington;  4 great grandchildren Maggie Winn, Eliza Herrington, Kasen Herrington and Gracyn Herrington; a niece, 2 nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Herrington was a Baptist and the first employee to retire at Silgan Plastics.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM Thursday until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
