Jerry Michael Alderson

Mr. Jerry M. Alderson, age 75, of Franklin, KY, passed away, Monday, January 18th, 2021 at 2:28 PM at The Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.  Visitation will continue on Friday, January 22nd, 2021 from 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22nd, 2021 at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Jerry was born on November 24th, 1945 in Allen County to the late Mort Reeder Alderson and the late Agnes Pauline Akers Alderson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Alderson and siblings, Jean Perry Barber, Eldon B. Alderson, Edward Lee Alderson and Bobby Alderson.

He is survived by 3 children, Michael Alderson (Amy) of Lewisburg, KY, Stacey Steger (Steve) of Franklin, KY, Mark Alderson (Joanna) of Bowling Green, KY; 5 grandchildren, Lauren Alderson (Maria), Michael Newman (Jordan), Jacob Newman, Cole Newman, Stone Alderson; 2 sisters, Linda Billiot, Walker, LA and Charlene Mahaney of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Allen County High School in Scottsville, KY.  He played basketball at Allen County High School and remained lifelong friends with his teammates.  Jerry was a member of the Kentucky Army Reserve.  He was a member and a deacon at Providence Baptist Church in Simpson County, KY.  Jerry worked at and retired from Brown Printing Company where he was a supervisor and was employed there for 31 years.  Jerry did not vote for Joe Biden.
