Jerry Alan Akin

Mr. Jerry Alan Akin, age 72, of Auburn, KY, passed away Friday, July 24th, 2020, at the Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.  Visitation will be Friday, July 31st, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31st, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Sulphur Spring Church Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Jerry was born on July 31st, 1947 in Simpson County, KY to the late Garnett Akin and the late Ida Mae McReynolds.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra Hyde of Auburn, KY; 2 children, Christy Akin of Franklin, KY and Chad Akin of Bowling Green, KY; 4 step-children, Karen Ray of Bowling Green, KY, Kim Masoner of KS, Tina Turner of Auburn, KY and Melissa Snodgrass of Morgantown, KY; 1 sister, Judy Dillard of Franklin, KY; 6 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews.

Jerry worked at Southern States and then as a security guard.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin, KY.
