Jane Vantrease Brown

Mrs. Jane Vantrease Brown, age 84, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1st at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson County, KY.   

Jane was born on January 21, 1940 in Simpson County, KY to the late Hazel Brown and the late Lottie (Bailey) Brown. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Harris Vantrease; and a daughter, Michell Perkins.

She is survived by husband of 27 years, Kelly Brown; a son, Mike Vantrease (Anita) of Bowling Green, KY; 3 step-children, Kelly Brown, Jr. (Cheryl) of Des Moines, IA, Kevin Brown (Lisa) Windamear, FL, and Karana Brown of FL: 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Emmi, Maggie, Faith, Jacob and Ian; 5 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra Brown Groves of Franklin, KY.

Jane was a 1958 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin, KY.  Jane was a retired bookkeeper at Miles Farm Supply.  She had previously been employed by Potter & Brumfield.  

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Program, 804 Church Street, Franklin, KY 42134 or American Cancer Society, 1006 Seng Ave., Franklin, KY 42134, Attn:  Marie Pitts.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
