James "Jimmy" Walter Kepley

Mr. James “Jimmy” Walter Kepley, age 67, of Portland, TN, passed away, Friday, January 1st, 2021 at 7:20 AM at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4th, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Jimmy was born on December 11, 1953 in Franklin, KY to Ralph Kepley, whom survives, and to the late, Janice Davidson Kepley.  He is preceded in death by 1 brother, Dicky Kepley, father-in-law, Robert Moore and 1 brother-in-law, Doug Gregory.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Brenda Kepley; his father, Ralph Kepley; 1 son, Joshua Kepley of Franklin, KY; 2 step-children, Dana Smith (Jeremy) of Palm Harbor, FL and Shanna Sadler of Nashville, TN; 1 grandson, Hollis James Kepley; 5 step-grandchildren, Victoria Tracy, Kelsey Liles, Faith Grubbs, Gage Grubbs and Lily Sadler; mother-in-law, Peggy Moore of New Deal, TN; 1 sister, Kim Burd (Doug) of Bowling Green, KY; 4 sisters-in-law, Sandra Briley (Timmy) of Cottontown, TN, Pam Gregory of White House, TN, Tammy Blake of Florence, KY and Christy Creasey (Lloyd) of Portland, TN; 3 nieces, Alex Hammers, Abby Burd and Annie Burd.

He attends Mount Pleasant General Baptist Church in New Deal, TN.  Before retirement, he was a farmer.
