James Dennis Pitt

Mr. James Dennis Pitt, age 69, of Springfield, TN, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 2:50 PM at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM with interment to follow in Providence Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

James was born on November 26, 1953 in Simpson County, KY to the late Henry Coleman Pitt and Kathryn Cauley Pitt, whom survives.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Pitt.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy (Carter) Pitt; 2 children, Tracy Nicole Pitt of Springfield, TN and Kevin Dennis Pitt of Springfield, TN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Kathryn (Cauley) Pitt of Orlinda, TN; 5 siblings, Robert Coleman Pitt (Bonnie Jo) Alvaton, KY, Leon Pitt of Springfield, TN, Wanda Gayle Atkinson of Springfield, TN, Debbie Parks of Orlinda, TN and Mike Pitt (Shelia) of Orlinda, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

James was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Simpson County, KY.  He was a retired farmer.  James enjoyed to go hunting and fishing.
