James Kenneth Moore, Jr

James Kenneth Moore, Jr., 38, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 4, 2014.

"Ken" was born on Christmas Day, 1975 in Columbia, Maryland to Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Moore, Sr. He was raised in Reston, Virginia and Centreville, Virginia. He was accepted to and graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 1993. He graduated from the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and from the George Mason University School of Law in 2004 with a Juris Doctorate.

Ken began his career as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in 2000. In 2004 he began his practice in patent law as an attorney at the law firm of Greenblum & Bernstein, PLC in Reston, Virginia and then in 2012 at Microsoft/Nokia at Nokia's North American Headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Moore, Sr., and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Melburn Meyer of Evansville, Indiana and Mr. & Mrs. James T. Moore of Franklin, Kentucky.

Survivors include his mother, Cherie M. Moore of Centreville, Virginia; sister, Aimee C. Moore of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, David M. Moore of Franklin, Kentucky; brother, Timothy M. Moore of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Mark M. Moore of Franklin, Kentucky; and brother, Geoffrey H. Moore of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his sister in-law, Stephanie Moore and his nephews, Andrew Parker Moore and Mason Alexander Moore, of Franklin, Kentucky.

Ken was a compassionate, humble, hard-working and benevolent man known for his generosity and devotion to his family, friends and those in need.
