A former Simpson Co., KY. native Mr. James C. Holman, age 90 of Indianapolis, IN., entered into rest Monday, December, 14, 2009 at the Roudebush V.A.Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.
A native of Simpson Co., Ky. he was the son of the late George T. Holman and the late Cassie A. Davidson Holman. He was the husband of the late Mayzelle Payne Holman. He was preceded in death by a daughter Shirley Law Carr, a sister Mable Womack and a brother Wallace Holman.
He is survived by 2 daughters Dolores Law Duffy and Billie Jean Law Kehl of Indianapolis, IN., 2 Sisters Ruth Evans of Woodburn, Ky. and Nannie Lou Dunn, 3 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Holman served during WWII in the US Army. He earned 3 Bronze Stars for combat during the liberation of the Philippine Islands with the 160th Infantry Division. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion Post #495 and Moose Lodge #17. In his later years he enjoyed playing poker with his friends .
