James Lee Carver

James Lee Carver, age 70, of Portland, TN. entered into rest Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 4:10 PM at his daughter’s residence in Rocky Hill, KY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2016 with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Emmett Franklin Carver and the late Bessie Kendall Carver. 9 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children Jody Harris and Karen Hammock both of Franklin, KY., Dawn Carver of Sevierville, TN., Brian Carver of Portland, TN., and Stacey Compton of Rocky Hill, KY., 2 brothers Jessie Ward of Shelbyville, IN. and Estil Carver of Auburn, KY., 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mr. Carver was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
