Jack Meador

Mr. Jack Meador, age 82, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 8:37 PM at the Medical Center of Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held ‪on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM‬ at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue ‪on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM‬ at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  The body will lie in state at Franklin First United Methodist Church, ‪107 North College Street in Franklin, KY‬ ‪from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM‬.  Funeral services will be held ‪on Sunday, January 29, 2023‬ at ‪2:00 PM‬ at the Franklin First United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Jack was born on November 10, 1940 in Franklin, KY to the late Alonzo Meador and the late Lillian (Crowder) Meador.  He is also preceded in death by his siblings, John Meador, Velvie Ruley, Edgar Lee “Dick” Meador, and Mollie Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Brenda (Hall) Meador; 2 children, Jackie Lee (Jim) of Portland, TN and Kim Searcy (Jerry) of Bowling Green, KY; 3 grandchildren, Jared Searcy (Paula), Kaylee Posey (Stuart) and Jackson Lee; 1 brother, Bob Meador of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was a 1959 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.  He was a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church.   Jack formerly worked at Potter and Brumfield, was the previous owner of American Dry Cleaners, and previous co-owner of Global Specialty Cleaners.  He loved bragging on his grandkids (and pointing out they all “look just like me”), buying lunch for others, and taking care of his wife and family.
